Kangeiko 2027 Registration

Two-night residential event

Walk Farmhouse, Whitminster, Gloucestershire, GL2 7PN; and Eastington Community center, Eastington, GL10 3AQ

Kangeiko 2027 Details

The theme for the Kangeiko (and for the whole of 2027) will be “Jikishin kore dojo” (“A sincere and upright heart is a true dojo”. Details about this theme will follow shortly.

The “Walk Farmhouse”, Whitminster Manor, GL2 7PN is in the grounds of a 17th-century manor house, by a basin of the Sharpness-Gloucester canal. Meetings, meals, socialising and sleeping will take place here. All attendees will be asked to contribute to preparing and clearing up at mealtimes.

Please note, the terms and conditions of booking the Farmhouse are quite onerous on BS. If sufficient booking have not been received by 12 November, it may be necessary to cancel the event. Therefore, to ensure it goes ahead, please be an early-bird and pay your deposit by 12 November.

To register for the kangeiko please fill in the form below. Spaces are limited, so please don’t wait to register your place.

Event Fees

Residential gasshuku fee: £325
Early-bird discount: £50 (payable £275)

Non-residential gasshuku fee (including meals): £250
Early bird discount: £ 50 (payable £200)

Non-members of British Shintaido will be asked to join at the event (£30 for 12 months).

Spaces are limited. We ask for a £60 deposit to secure your place with the balance payable before the final registration deadline. If the event is oversubscribed we will return your deposit.

Registration closes 3 January 2027 (subject to availability).

Residential fees include full board and accommodation. As this is a self-catering event you will be asked to help with food preparation and clearing away for some meals. Non-residents will also be asked  to contribute to meal preparation and clearing away

    Bursaries

    A limited number of bursaries will be available. Would you like to be considered?

    To apply for a bursary you will need to send a short proposal to the management team detailing you shintaido experience and reasons for requiring a bursary.

    Deposit payment

    I will pay the £75 deposit by:

    NB1: BACS preferred unless you are based overseas

    NB2: Please quote the reference BS Kangeiko 27 (or similar) if possible

    NB3: Please post the cheque to British Shintaido, 234 Peppard Road, Reading, RG4 8UA
